The National Symphony Orchestra ended a three week run under its Principal Conductor, Ivan Fischer, last night in the John F. Kennedy Center Concert Hall with a program featuring the low brass in operatic selections of Richard Wagner. Week one under Maestro Fischer featured Craig Mulcahy in the Symphony #3 of Gustav Mahler, received with critical acclaim in The Washington Post.
For the 2008-2009 season, our section roster is:
Craig Mulcahy, Acting Principal (tenured on trombone 2 chair)
Barry Hearn, Trombone 2 (one year position)
Matthew Guilford, Bass Trombone
Stephen Dumaine, Tuba
We will hold auditions for Principal Trombone and Assistant Trombone (2 positions) on January 10, 11 & 12, 2009 in the John F. Kennedy Center.
